The Casting Process is Easy and Takes Just a Few Minutes

After you and your loved one arrive at our home, we prepare a molding gel mix. The hand or foot is dipped into the gel. It takes from a few seconds to a minute or two for the gel to set. The hand or foot is then gently removed from the gel. More...

Your Casters: Laura Haycock and Cindi Petersen

Cindi Petersen & Laura Haycock

Laura and Cindi are a mother-daughter duo who have made hundreds of castings for very satisfied customers. Testimonials. They have studied with and been trained by Lynne Widdison, owner of Professional Handcasting in West Bountiful, Utah. www.professionalhandcasting.com. Lynne is the best in the business. She has been in the handcasting business since 1990, for 20 years. She passed on the many tricks and special techniques that she has perfected over the years to Laura and Cindi, along with all of the right tools and equipment. Laura and Cindi draw upon Lynne's 20 years of expertise and experience to make the perfect casting for you.

Babies and children pose some special issues because their hands and feet tend to wiggle. The molding process requires that hands or feet be still for a few moments until the molding material has set up sufficiently to hold its shape for the casting which is poured later. Laura and Cindi are trained in techniques for helping babies and children forget that their hand or foot is being molded so the molding can be completed without distortion. And if it doesn't work right, we'll do it again at no extra charge to you.
