The Casting Process - What to Expect
The Casting Process is Easy and Takes Just a Few Minutes
After you and your loved one arrive at our home, we prepare a molding gel mix. The hand or foot is dipped into the gel. It takes from a few seconds to a minute or two for the gel to set. The hand or foot is then gently removed from the gel. The entire proccess takes only a few minutes.
The gel is a safe material, similar to that used by dentists to make impressions of teeth.
Please plan to pay for your casting when the mold is made. We accept cash or checks. We cannot accept credit or debit cards at this time.
After the mold is made, you and your loved one are free to go. We will finish your casting over the next few days to a couple of weeks and we will let you know when it is ready for pick up.
We will then pour the casting material into the mold and allow it to harden. Then we will remove the casting from the molding gel. We then take whatever time is necessary to finish it to perfection so it is an heirloom-quality work of art for your enjoyment through the generations.
We will call you when your casting is ready for pickup. If you have a particular time by which you'd like your casting to be completed, we will try to accommodate your desires.
